The Glass Castle

After reading the first the half of the Glass Castle, the one question that comes to mind is why in the world would have are their people in the world that have to struggle so much just to survive on a daily basis? I do think and the family in the story started out very rough. I don’t believe anyone should have to live their life the way these people did. No kid should have to worry about if they are going to have food on the table for dinner, a roof over their head or are they going to be sleeping the car for another night, how is their parents are feeling and how they are going to act tonight and also am I going to be safe from other people walk around the town. Things started out rough but I get the since that now that the daughter brought to her father attention that she didn’t like the way he acted and she wanted him to stop drinking, I do believe her father is now aware and will try to do his best to improve his health and help his family live a much better life. I look forward to reading the rest of the book to if the father does follow through and does his best to make a better life for his family.

I completely agree with what you're saying. I don't think that anyone should have to experience this kind of lifestyle.
I in a way believe that it all goes back to the parents. I think that if the parents are brought up by their parents to live a good life and support themselves and their family, even if they aren't rich and the just have the money to get by, I think thats great.
I think that money isn't everything and you don't need it to be happy. You just need the people you love and a roof over your head and some food, and anyone can be happy if they really want to.
People just need to grow up and realize they need to support themselves and get a job to have the money they need to get through life happily with their family!

That is soooo true! his surely not the kind of lifestyle that anyone should be exposed to. When I was reading this all I could think about was how difficult it would be for one to survive physically or mentally in a world like theirs. You don't need money to be happy, but it certainly aides survival.
